A Short Guide to Surgical & Non-Surgical Body Contouring

If you have ever considered having body contouring done, you may not know that there are different types. Below, we’ll look at nonsurgical and surgical options.

Non-Surgical Body Contouring

These are the options that are done without surgery. Sometimes they can even be done on your lunch hour.

  • Cryolipolysis – This is a procedure that destroys fat cells with really cold temperatures. CoolSculpting is an example of this.
  • Injection lipolysis – This involves targeting fat cells by placing deoxycholic acid in the body.
  • Laser lipolysis – Destroys fat cells with lasers. Zerona® does this.
  • Radiofrequency lipolysis – Targets fat cells with heat and ultrasound waves.

The results of these can vary, so make sure that you do your research.

Surgical Body Contouring

These are the surgical types of body contouring. These often require time off work so you can heal and recover.

  • Lifts & Tucks – These are procedures for removing extra skin and fat. Common procedures are facelifts, tummy tucks, and breast lifts.
  • Liposuction – This suctions fat deposits out of the body.

So how do you choose what type of body contouring you want to do? Here are things to consider:

  • Budget – Some are more expensive than others.
  • Time Off – If you can’t take time off work, you probably don’t want to choose a surgical option.
  • Goals – What are your goals? Depending on your goals, some body contouring procedures are more suitable than others.

Body contouring can give you more confidence in yourself. Take time to research and see which one is best for you.
